Kid's St. Patrick's Craft

Our Daisy Girl Scouts created Leprechaun Finger Puppets this week for upcoming St. Patrick's Day.  The materials and directions for this craft came from JoAnn's in one of the previous donations to Girl Scouts.

MATERIALS:
  • Dark green felt for body, hat top, hat body and hat brim.
  • Yellow felt for buckle on hat.
  • Black felt for band and buckle on hat.
  • Peach or tan felt for face.
  • Googly eyes.
  • Fine Sharpie marker for mouth.
  • Orange pipe cleaner for beard.
  • Tacky glue.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Print and use this <click here ->> Finger Puppet Template to cut out the needed felt pieces.
  2. Make a tube using the piece marked "body" and glue the overlap.
  3. Glue the "hat brim" on top of the body.
  4. Make another tube from the "hat body", glue the overlap and glue to hat brim.
  5. Glue "Hat top" on top of the hat body.
  6. Glue the band around the hat.
  7. Glue the bigger bukle piece and the little buckle piece to the front of the hat.
  8. Glue the "face" below the hat brim.
  9. Glue eyes on face.
  10. Curl a 3" - 6" piece of pipe cleaner to create a beard.  Bend to fit the face and glue.
  11. Draw on mouth.

  2. Very cute! I'm nearing the end of my Girl Scout volunteer time. I started when my daughter was a Daisy, 14 years ago. It's fun to see new Daisies at the beginning of their Girl Scout journey.
