My sister asked if I could embroider a couple of baby Nunu blankets she purchased as a baby-shower gift for a co-worker who is expecting twins. I wasn't sure how I could do these cute blankets as the material is a soft, heavily-textured rosette fabric. I thought maybe I would monogram the baby initial on an ear.
We gave it a try on the fabric, and it came out OK!
I hooped tear-away stabilizer, and used a bit of temporary spray-adhesive to secure it, along with a basting stitch around name. I added a water-soluble film on top to keep the stitches on top of the fabric. We picked a silver thread to match the current stitching on the bunny's face.
This photo isn't the best, but the embroidery came out quite adorable! So glad it worked!
Happy Stitching!!

Thanks Cath. I really wasn't sure if this type of fabric would work with embroidery. Glad it did!
DeleteThey turned out really cute! Good gift idea!
ReplyDeleteI agree. A gift doesn't have to be expensive to make it meaningful. Personalization always adds sentimentality.
