I'll be back soon...

I'm not in the mood to craft at the moment.  We unexpectedly lost our beloved family pet Lucky, last night.  He fell ill and we took him to the local animal emergency center.  He had suffered a ruptured intestine and although he made it through the late night surgery, the recovery proved too much for his heart to bear.  The doctors could not determine what had caused the rupture.  They're thinking it may have been a cancer site at the cell-level.

He was the sweetest Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie).  Our constant companion, always near by, or right under our feet.  I often referred to him as my shadow.

Always with me in the sewing room.

Lucky was such part of the family, we were not prepared or ready to let him go.  Eight years was not enough time to spend with him and we are missing him tremendously.

When I took this photo, I had no idea this would be his last day with us.

I'll be back to crafting in a little bit.  Just wanted to share this sweet dog of ours one last time.

  8. Oh I'm sorry to read about Lucky. I'm dreading the day I'll have to say good bye to my 16 yr old Sheltie. Ours too is a constant companion. He never left my side yesterday while laid in bed sick.

  9. I'm so sorry to read about your loss. I lost my first "baby" over 12 years ago and still miss her. I saw that you've got a new gorgeous puppy at your house. How wonderful for your family and for your puppy.
