ASG Retreat 2018 - FSL Battenberg Doilies

Another small project done at this past season's retreat with my Northern Virginia chapter of the American Sewing Guild, was to create these Battenberg Lace Doilies using 100% cotton thread.

Free Standing Battenberg Lace Doilies

Designs:
- Daisy Bouquet Doily (Battenberg Lace) #M20324 from Embroidery Library in 7.8" x 7.8".
- Lotus Bouquet Doily (Battenberg Lace) #M20319 from Embroidery Library in 7.8" x 7.8".

Thread:  Madeira No. 30 Cotona 100% cotton embroidery thread in color #752 (off white).

Stabilizer:  Vilene wash-away.

These designs are all thread, no fabric.  These designs are stitch-intensive.  Load a bobbin or two of the same cotton thread so it matches the top.

Stitch the design directly on the stabilizer.
Stitching directly on the stabilizer.

Cotton thread puts off a lot of fuzz.  Dust out your bobbin area when done with these designs.

Trim the stabilizer close to the design, then rinse the design in room temperature water.
Lay flat to dry.

They are really pretty.

I also took care of a couple of monogram requests while I was at the retreat.  Soft bunny and blanket for a new baby.  When I had it under my needle, the bunny looked like I was operating on its belly. :)
The font was a built-in on my machine.

Happy Stitching!
