Happy
Funday Monday! I got block #7 done from
WebFabric's Scrappy Organized Block of the Month. These quilt patterns also belong to
Moda's Friendship and Signature Quilt Alongs.
This is
Block #7 by
Barbara Brackman.
 |
My dark, medium and light fabrics are cut and ready! |
 |
First step - sew light and dark rectangles. |
So I'm stitching along, chit chatting with my Funday friend Kathleen, and not paying attention to how I'm stitching on the purple squares. Then, I complain to her that I don't like how there isn't much color in these pieces. No wonder, as I lay them out, it's clear that I did six out of the eight pieces wrong!
 |
Oh No! This is what I get for not paying attention to which side I stitch on. |
Back to cutting. I had enough extra dark blue and cream to make more rectangles, but not enough extra of the purple, so I reverse-sewed a bunch of the mistakes to resew correctly onto the new rectangles.
 |
This is better! |
The rest of the block went easy.
 |
Stitch together the rectangles into four block pieces. |
 |
Block pieces ready to sew. |
 |
Rows sewed together |
 |
Finished block #7. |
Happy Stitching!!
What a great block! Thanks for sharing.
