No Sew Quilt Board

I was shopping online on amazon, and I needed just a little something more to qualify for the Free Shipping.  I searched for quilting stuff and found this little No-Sew Quilt Board by Artsi2 for $6.75.  I didn't know what it was, but it looked interesting enough so I got it.

A No-Sew Quilt Block - Something new to try.

Here are the contents of the quilt kit.

The instructions contain links to their website with demo videos.  I did watch the videos a couple of times, and they were very useful.

The instructions are simple.  Take off a pattern piece of the design, one at a time, starting at the center. The exposed area of the board is sticky.

Remove a paper section.

Use the paper pattern piece to cut a piece of fabric, allowing 1/8" border around the shape.

Use the paper shape to cut the fabric piece.

Finger-press the piece onto the sticky board.

Use a blunt punching tool to tuck the edges of the fabric into the pre-cut slits.  Since I don't have a punch tool, the instructions say you can use the back side of a seam ripper as well.  That is what I used and it worked fine.

I didn't have the punch tool, but the back of a seam-ripper works great too.

First piece in!
Continue with each section of the board.

Center-star in place.  Perfect points!!

The instructions for the outer border pieces were a little unclear.  The fabric wraps around the edge to the back, and needs to be glued down. This is where I went back to watch the demo video.

Done!
The kit came with a white foam backing piece for a clean finish in the back.

The border material wraps around the edges for a more finished look.

This was an easy project, and it didn't take too long either.  It even came with a little hanger so I can hang up the board right away.   Since I used scraps for this block from a quilt that now sits in our family room, this little guy is going to hang in the family room too.

I may look into getting a larger board next time!   DD1 wants to try one too.  She says she likes that she wouldn't have to worry about sewing perfect seams for this project.  lol

Happy Stitching!!

  5. This is a really fun idea. I hadn't thought of looking for quilting stuff on amazon! I usually look for a new book or video when I need to make it to $25.00. I even buy my Vivid bleach from there since none of the local stores carry it anymore. Love, love Amazon! Oh, and I like the colors you used in this too.
